Alocasia longiloba ‘Purple’ pushes the species toward cleaner, darker contrast, with green blades lined in silver and rich violet undersides that show especially well when the leaves are raised. It stays more compact and upright than many elephant-ear types, usually around 60–80 cm indoors, so the effect is sharp and collector-oriented rather than bulky. The long-lobed outline remains the key feature, giving the plant a sleek architectural feel even when carrying only a handful of leaves.
Bright indirect light supports vein clarity, while warm temperatures and steady humidity help the purple reverse stay rich instead of dulling. A coarse, breathable substrate and measured watering are essential, because longiloba forms resent dense wet soil long before they show obvious collapse.
