Goeppertia dressleri 'Helen Kennedy' is a compact clumping prayer plant with layered green patterning on the upper leaf surface and rich purple undersides that show clearly when the foliage shifts through the day. The leaves have a satiny to velvety finish and rise slightly at night, a typical Marantaceae movement that adds life without changing the plant’s tidy footprint.
Indoors it can reach around 60 cm tall with a similar spread, provided warmth, soft light, and moisture stay consistent. Keep it in bright, indirect light, use an airy mix that stays lightly moist, and aim for humidity above 60%, ideally higher.
Brown edges, curling, and spider mites usually point to dry air or stress, while the plant’s non-toxic status makes it easier to place in mixed households.
