Goeppertia orbifolia is a bold Marantaceae species with huge round leaves banded in soft silver and green, each blade unfurling into a broad satiny disc that can reach 30–40 cm across. It grows as an upright clump rather than a vine, and the combination of size, striping, and day-night leaf movement gives it a very strong presence indoors.
Bright indirect light is essential, since direct sun burns the leaf surface while deep shade weakens growth. The substrate should stay evenly moist but airy, water quality should be soft if possible, and humidity needs to stay high, ideally above 60%, to avoid edge crisping. Temperatures around 18–26 °C and stable conditions suit it best.
Goeppertia orbifolia is non-toxic and works well as a statement plant for growers willing to build a humid, consistent environment around it.
