Philodendron squamiferum is one of the easiest philodendrons to recognise thanks to its red hairy petioles and mature leaves divided into narrow oak-like lobes. It is a fast climber with real personality, especially once the stem is secured to a moss pole and the foliage starts increasing in size.
Philodendron squamiferum performs well in bright indirect light, warm temperatures, moderate to high humidity, and a chunky substrate that stays airy around the roots. It is more playful-looking than many serious collector species, but still rare enough to feel special, and it brings both strong texture and movement into a display. Choose it if you want a climber with obvious character, quick response, and far more visual energy than a plain green pole plant.
