Philodendron tortum looks almost unreal at first glance, with deeply divided, wireframe-like leaves carried on slightly twisted petioles that give the whole plant a sense of movement. It is a hemiepiphytic climber, and the dramatic leaf form becomes even stronger once the stem is trained upward rather than left to sprawl.
Philodendron tortum performs best in bright indirect light, warm stable conditions, humidity high enough to prevent crisping, and a chunky mix that dries a little at the top before rewatering. It adapts well to semi-hydro too, but still needs air around the roots. Use it when you want something truly different from ordinary split leaves: lighter, more skeletal, and almost fern-like, yet still very clearly a philodendron.
