Goeppertia rufibarba carries long, softly rippled leaves with velvety surfaces and rich burgundy undersides, giving it a tactile quality that sets it apart from more glossy patterned Marantaceae. It forms a broad upright clump that can approach 100 cm in good conditions, so it works well where you want height and softness rather than a flat tabletop plant.
Bright, indirect light, evenly moist but breathable substrate, temperatures around 18–24 °C, and humidity in the 60–80% range help it keep its best texture and reduce brown tips. Because the leaves move slightly with the day-night cycle, the plant stays visually active even without strong variegation. It is considered non-toxic to pets and people, making it a solid choice for households that can support warm, humid growing conditions.
