Agave 'Shaka Zulu' grows as a heavy, slow rosette of blue-green leaves edged in red and yellow, with colour intensifying as light becomes stronger. Mature plants can reach around 60 cm tall and up to 90 cm wide, so it works as a long-term statement succulent rather than a windowsill miniature.
Give it direct sun or the brightest available indoor exposure, a mineral-rich mix, and a strict soak-then-dry watering rhythm. Humidity is irrelevant compared with drainage, and overwatering is the real risk.
Sharp spines and irritating sap mean it needs thoughtful placement, but for growers who want a durable architectural plant with strong colour contrast and decades of lifespan, it offers exactly that. It stays slow, so the rosette keeps its proportions for a long time.
