Alocasia baginda ‘Dragon Scale’ is grown for heavy texture rather than bright colour, with thick silvered-green leaves crossed by deep emerald veins and a raised surface that really does resemble layered scales. The plant stays compact and usually carries only a few leaves at a time, which makes each one feel deliberate and highly visible. New foliage opens softer and paler, then hardens into a firmer, darker finish as the relief becomes more pronounced.
Bright indirect light keeps that pattern sharp without scorching the leaf surface, and warm conditions help the rhizome stay active. Use a coarse, oxygen-rich mix that holds some moisture but drains quickly, because this species loses quality fast in dense, wet substrate even though it looks stout and substantial.
