Alocasia macrorrhizos is giant of the group, producing immense glossy leaves on thick upright stems that can make even a large room feel more tropical. Mature indoor plants may reach roughly 2–2.5 m, with individual blades often well over 90 cm, so this is a plant for space, not restraint. The foliage is broad, architectural, and leathery enough to hold real presence even when viewed from a distance.
Bright indirect light, regular feeding, and a rich but airy substrate help it establish quickly, while steady moisture supports continuous large-leaf production. Do not let the roots sit cold and waterlogged, because giant scale does not mean tolerance for stagnant soil.
For growers who want elephant-ear impact indoors, this species delivers tropical mass better than almost anything else.
