Alocasia macrorrhizos ‘Stingray’ turns giant-taro mass into something playful, producing broad leaves that finish in long tapering tails so blade resembles a gliding stingray. Even though the silhouette is whimsical, the plant itself grows with substantial speed and can reach 1.5–2 m indoors under warm, bright conditions. The foliage stays glossy and deep green, and the upright habit keeps the unusual shape highly visible rather than hidden in a dense clump.
Bright indirect light and steady moisture are essential, but the substrate must stay airy because a plant of this size resents heavy wet soil around its rhizome.
Maintain humidity, protect it from cold drafts, and use a stable pot if you want the distinctive tails to develop on strong, well-held leaves rather than on stressed, undersized growth.
