Alocasia âMetalheadâ takes the long, narrow leaf influence of Alocasia lauterbachiana and pairs it with the darker pigments and heavier presence of macrorrhizos âPlumbeaâ, creating a plant that looks metallic rather than simply green. The upper surface stays glossy and deep-toned, while the undersides lean purple, so every shift in angle adds another layer of colour. It grows upright and can reach roughly 90â150 cm indoors, which makes it useful as a vertical accent in brighter rooms.
Keep it warm, give it coarse, fast-draining substrate, and water once the upper layer starts drying so the roots stay active without sitting wet. Higher humidity helps the long leaves open cleanly, and consistent feeding during active growth keeps the colour and stance strong.
