Alocasia sp. Sulawesi 'Green Carpet' relies on texture rather than colour contrast, producing narrow, strongly ribbed leaves with pronounced midrib and secondary veins that create a distinctly sculptural surface. Indoors it usually stays around 80 cm or less, with an upright habit that fits shelves or tighter floor spaces better than broader Alocasias.
Bright filtered light, warm temperatures, and an airy mix of bark, fibre, and mineral components keep growth steady. Let the top layer dry slightly before watering again, but do not leave the roots wet and cold. Humidity around 60–80% helps prevent dry edges, and, like other Alocasias, it contains calcium oxalate and is unsafe if eaten. It can also adapt to inert or semi-hydro media when moisture is managed carefully.
