Aloe dorotheae 'Crimson' grows as a compact, offsetting succulent with glossy rosettes that shift from green to orange-red and deep crimson under intense light. Its decumbent stems let it spread into a low clump over time, usually around 25–30 cm tall, while coral-red tubular flowers add another burst of colour from late winter into spring.
Use a gritty, sharply draining mix and water deeply only after the substrate has dried fully. Strong sun keeps the rosettes dense and brings out the richest tones, but sudden exposure should still be gradual to avoid scarring. The plant is built for heat, bright exposure, and lean watering, not for damp soil or humid, low-light corners. Offset production also makes mature clumps easy to divide and replant. Offsets form freely.
