Deep pleating gives Anthurium cutucuense a leaf surface unlike almost anything else in the genus. The blades are stiff, dark green, matte, and heavily ridged, carried on upright petioles that build a compact self-heading plant rather than a climber. Indoors it can reach roughly 50–60 cm in height and spread, but the texture is what dominates.
It comes from cooler, misty cloud-forest conditions, so steady warmth around 18–24°C, high humidity, and filtered light suit it better than hot, dry rooms. Keep the substrate airy and evenly moist, allowing only the upper 2–3 cm to dry slightly before watering again.
This is a slower, more exacting Anthurium than many hybrids, yet the foliage reward is distinctive. Calcium oxalate is present, so keep it away from pets or children that may chew leaves.
