Anthurium regale is one of the defining large velvet Anthurium, famous for oversized cordate leaves marked by thick white veins that look almost painted across the surface. Native to humid Peruvian forest, it is slower and more demanding than many hybrids, but its payoff is unmistakable: huge dramatic foliage with a dark plush texture and genuinely royal scale. Indoors, it needs stable warmth, very high humidity, and a coarse airy mix to reach its best form, but mature plants quickly become the dominant feature in any aroid display.
Anthurium regale is for collectors who want a true statement species and are willing to prioritize conditions over speed or convenience. It remains one of the species that define serious velvet Anthurium collecting.
