Begonia maculata 'Double Dot' intensifies the usual polka-dot effect with denser silver spotting across dark angel-wing leaves, while the undersides stay rich red and the canes remain relatively compact. That heavier patterning gives each leaf more contrast without changing the species’ familiar upright structure, so it still behaves like a straightforward cane begonia rather than a demanding collector type.
Bright indirect light preserves the spots, and a fast-draining mix that dries slightly at the top between waterings keeps the roots healthier than constant moisture ever will. Humidity in the moderate range helps prevent brown edges, and pinching the tips encourages a denser outline instead of a few tall stems. It is a good choice when you want a classic spotted begonia look, but with stronger patterning packed onto a smaller, more manageable plant.
