Codiaeum variegatum 'Excellent' looks sharper and more graphic than many crotons, using narrow lobed leaves and saturated colour to build a plant that feels almost designed rather than merely grown. Greens, yellows, oranges, and reds run through the foliage in strong bands and patches, and the upright habit keeps all that colour stacked in a narrow column instead of spreading outward. It is especially effective where you need bold foliage but not a plant that reads too broad or heavy.
To keep 'Excellent' looking intense rather than tired, give it bright filtered light, steady warmth, and enough humidity that leaf edges do not crisp. Water once the upper layer has started to dry, but do not let the root zone stay soggy. When conditions stay stable, it becomes one of the cleaner, more architectural croton forms available.
