Colocasia esculenta 'Tropical Storm' keeps the drama of dark elephant ear foliage but compresses it into a size that is much easier to place indoors. The leaves are deep purple to almost black, cut by a bright white central flash and pale veins that make the plant look storm-lit even when it is standing still. Because it stays more compact than many Colocasia cultivars, it works well in pots where you want impact without needing a huge amount of floor space.
Do not mistake the smaller scale for tougher tolerance, though. 'Tropical Storm' still wants warmth, steady moisture, and humidity high enough to stop the edges from browning. Use a rich airy mix, keep it evenly damp, and give it bright filtered light. Under those conditions it grows quickly and keeps the contrast sharp instead of fading into a stressed black-leafed aroid.
