Cyanotis beddomei 'Brown Hill' is the fuzzy trailing plant people usually want to touch first, with brown-haired leaves and stems that give the whole plant a plush, teddy-bear texture. It roots along the stem and fills out readily, so a young plant can become a dense mat or soft hanging spill surprisingly quickly when the light is bright enough and the mix stays airy. The vivid blue flowers are a bonus rather than the main event, adding sharp contrast to the warm fuzz when they appear on established stems.
Regular but moderate watering, good drainage, warm conditions, and pinching or trimming to keep the plant dense help it stay compact and tactile instead of stretching into sparse, less convincing growth.
