Dieffenbachia 'Tropic Marianne' carries broad leaves with pale yellow to ivory centres framed by deep green margins, creating a stable, high-contrast pattern on a single upright cane. Mature plants usually reach about 60–100 cm indoors, with leaves up to roughly 50 cm long adding real volume without taking much floor space.
It performs best in bright, indirect light, though moderate shade is acceptable, and watering should wait until the top 15–20% of the substrate has dried slightly. Warm conditions around 18–24 °C, humidity above 50%, and a breathable mix based on coco coir, compost, and perlite suit it well.
Source notes describe its variegation as genetically fixed rather than something driven by light intensity, so care should focus on plant health, not colour tricks.
