Dioscorea sp. Borneo (Narrow Leaf) is an undescribed climbing yam from northern Borneo that grows from a persistent rootstock and produces fresh seasonal vines each cycle. Its long, narrow leaves are the main feature, coloured deep green with a subtle silver sheen that gives the plant a cooler, more metallic surface than many broader-leaved Dioscorea.
During active growth it prefers bright indirect light or dappled shade, evenly moist but well-draining substrate, and warm temperatures around 20–28 °C. A loose organic mix and a support to scramble through help it develop naturally, while light balanced feeding can support leaf production. When stems die back, watering should be reduced strongly and the rootstock kept on the dry side until new growth begins again.
