Dracaena reflexa var. angustifolia, often sold as marginata, is a slim cane-form species with very narrow pointed leaves that create height and line without much bulk. Many cultivated forms show reddish or burgundy edging, but the essential habit stays the same: thin woody stems topped with spiky tufts that gradually build into a branching indoor tree.
It prefers bright indirect light yet tolerates moderate shade, and watering should only happen once roughly the top 15–20% of the substrate has dried. A free-draining mix with added perlite or pumice helps avoid rot, while average room humidity and temperatures around 18–26 °C suit it well. Growth is slow to moderate but long-lived, and cane cuttings root easily. It contains saponins and should be kept out of reach of pets.
