Ficus cyathistipula forms upright, branching stems lined with elongated leathery leaves that are glossy dark green above and paler beneath, giving the whole plant a polished but durable look. It adapts better to ordinary indoor conditions than many fussier figs, while still developing enough mass to work as a true floor plant over time.
Bright indirect light suits it best, though it tolerates somewhat lower levels if watering is adjusted and growth is allowed to slow. Water thoroughly when the upper few centimetres have dried, then let the pot drain well. Average household humidity is usually acceptable, and most problems come from abrupt environmental shifts or overwatering rather than from the plant needing highly specialised care. Repotting is infrequent.
