Goeppertia roseopicta 'Surprise Star' is all about saturated contrast, with dark leaves marked by hot pink midribs and fine accent lines, then flipped over to reveal intense purple undersides when the foliage lifts at night. It has more theatrical colour than softer silver-green Marantaceae, so it works best where those tones can act as a true focal point rather than disappear into a crowded mixed display. The leaves stay broad and lush when the plant is comfortable, which gives the colour even more impact.
Warmth, soft water, bright filtered light, evenly moist substrate, and high humidity are what keep the pink markings clear and the edges clean, because brown tips arrive quickly when the air is dry or the watering becomes erratic.
