Goodyera malipoensis is a miniature terrestrial jewel orchid from China with a creeping rhizome, short erect stems, and neatly spaced leaves marked by fine white-yellow reticulate venation over grey-green surfaces. Unlike showy-flowered orchids, it is mainly grown for foliage detail, although it can bloom seasonally in late spring.
Low to medium light, cool to intermediate temperatures around 15–24 °C, evenly moist substrate, and consistently high humidity all suit it better than warm, dry room conditions. A loose mix with sphagnum, fine bark, and perlite helps keep roots aerated while still holding enough moisture. Because it stays small and values stable conditions, it is especially well suited to terrariums or enclosed displays where humidity and temperature stay even.
