Hoya carnosa ‘Suzie Q’ combines the cream-edged look of variegated carnosa with a lightly crinkled leaf surface, so the foliage has more depth than a standard smooth-leaved form. The plant trails or climbs easily, stays manageable in a pot, and can reward maturity with the familiar waxy pink-toned carnosa flowers. That mix of interesting foliage and reliable bloom potential is what makes it attractive beyond novelty.
Bright indirect light, a loose chunky substrate, and proper drying between waterings are enough to keep ‘Suzie Q’ moving well. Because the leaves already bring texture and colour, it looks good even while young, but it also has the staying power of a carnosa-type Hoya once established. Hoya carnosa ‘Suzie Q’ is a good fit for growers who want a slightly more characterful variegated Hoya without stepping into difficult territory.
