Hoya carnosa 'Tricolor' grows as a long-lived trailing or climbing vine with glossy oval leaves edged in creamy white, centred in green, and flushed pink on fresh growth. The plant combines decorative foliage with the bloom potential Hoya carnosa is known for, producing waxy clusters of pink, star-shaped flowers on mature plants when light and roots are right.
Bright, indirect light keeps growth compact and the colour contrast clearer, while a chunky, fast-draining mix and a drying period between waterings help protect the roots. It usually tolerates ordinary indoor humidity, though 50–60% supports stronger growth. Avoid cutting old flower spurs, repot only when clearly rootbound, and treat it as mildly irritating if chewed because sap and plant tissue can upset pets.
