Hoya linearis looks nothing like the thick-leaved climbing Hoyas most people picture, replacing them with long, soft, needle-like leaves that hang in curtains and give the plant a much lighter, almost tasselled presence. That distinctive foliage makes it ideal for hanging baskets and elevated displays where the stems can fall freely and create a dense, feathery silhouette rather than being forced onto a support.
It comes from cooler Himalayan conditions, so it appreciates bright indirect light, excellent airflow, and somewhat cooler temperatures than many tropical Hoyas, while still needing an airy mix and careful watering. If you want something that feels closer to a soft trailing Rhipsalis in mood but still gives you Hoya flowers and collector value, linearis is an excellent choice.
