Hoya sp. Konowa is an unpublished clone prized for thick, nearly circular leaves with pronounced raised veins and strong light-responsive colour change. In ordinary bright conditions it stays a dense deep green, but under stronger filtered light the foliage can turn rich red to near maroon, giving the whole vine a lacquered, almost enamelled look. It grows as a flexible climber or trailer and works well on small trellises, hoops, or hanging shelves where the bold round leaves can be seen clearly.
A fast-draining bark, perlite, and coir mix helps keep roots healthy, while the top layer should dry before rewatering.
Hoya sp. Konowa suits collectors who want dramatic colour from foliage rather than flowers and who enjoy watching the leaf response shift as light increases.
