Hoya sp. 'Malang' is an unpublished East Java clone with elongated deep green leaves neatly framed by dark red margins, giving it a very crisp, foliage-first look even without flowers. The stems stay relatively compact with tidy internodes, so it can be trained up a support or allowed to trail from a shelf without becoming chaotic.
Bright indirect light is ideal and filtered morning sun helps strengthen the red edging, while the top of the mix should dry slightly before rewatering. An airy epiphytic substrate of bark, perlite, and a little coir or peat-free base keeps the roots healthy and oxygenated.
