Hoya sulawesiana (SLM03) is a described Sulawesi species known for long narrow leathery leaves that can darken to purple or nearly black in strong filtered light. That shifting foliage colour makes it one of the more dramatic climbing Hoyas even before it flowers, while the overall growth remains slow and deliberate rather than sprawling. Mature plants may produce fuzzy deep pink flowers, but most growers prize this species for the leaf response and minimalist form.
Bright indirect light with some soft sun, temperatures around 18–26 °C, humidity above 60%, and a loose bark-perlite substrate help it keep its colour and structure. Water after the upper layer dries, keep roots airy, and avoid sudden cold.
Hoya sulawesiana is best suited to patient growers who enjoy slowly maturing vines with very distinctive light-reactive foliage.
