Hoya undulata is one of the most unusual Hoyas in cultivation, known for stiff leathery leaves with strongly wavy margins and occasional domatia at the leaf base that can shelter ants in habitat. Native to lowland Kalimantan, it is an epiphytic climber that demands brighter humidity-driven conditions than easier common Hoyas, but rewards that effort with a leaf shape that looks sculpted rather than simply grown. Bright indirect light, temperatures around 22–30 °C, humidity well above 75%, and a very airy mix of bark, perlite, and sphagnum or coco chips suit it best.
Water only after the upper substrate has dried, maintain strong airflow, and never cut old peduncles if it blooms. Hoya undulata is not a generalist shelf Hoya; it is a species for growers who value rare morphology and can provide a consistently humid setup.
