Hypoestes phyllostachya 'White' offers a cooler take on polka-dot foliage, with green leaves dusted in creamy white flecks and a neat, compact habit that works well in small pots, grouped plantings, or open terrariums. Indoors it usually stays around 30–40 cm tall and does best in bright, indirect light, where the contrast stays crisp without risking scorch.
Keep temperatures in the warm range, aim for humidity around 55–60% or higher, and water when about the top 40% of the substrate has dried while avoiding both total drought and constant saturation. It is especially effective beside darker foliage or simple white planters. A loose, well-draining mix and regular pinching help it stay full, and pale lilac flowers may appear but are not the reason most people grow it.
