Kaempferia aff. pulchra 'Red Leaves' grows low from rhizomes and produces broad leaves washed in shifting green, silver-grey, and soft burgundy tones with a metallic sheen that changes as the light moves across the surface. The plant stays compact and close to the substrate, so it suits small pots, cabinets, and shaded displays where foliage detail matters more than height.
During active growth it prefers bright, indirect light, warm temperatures around 18–28 °C, evenly moist but free-draining substrate, and light feeding at regular intervals. Because it follows a seasonal rhythm, reduced watering during dormancy is important and overwatering resting rhizomes is the main risk. This is a foliage-led ginger for growers comfortable with a plant that disappears and returns on schedule.
