Maranta leuconeura 'Fascinator', also sold as 'Tricolor' or 'Red Stripe', combines dark green margins, a softer green centre, pale fishbone markings, and vivid red veins in a low, spreading prayer plant that stays around 20–30 cm tall but can widen to about 50 cm. Purple-toned undersides become more visible as the leaves lift and fold with the day-night cycle, adding movement as well as colour.
Native species background in Brazil’s Atlantic Forest explains why it grows from shallow rhizomes and prefers bright indirect light, stable warmth around 20–28 °C, consistently lightly moist substrate, and humidity around 60% or above. Non-toxic and compact, it suits shelves, hanging pots, or pet-friendly homes, and regular trimming can keep the growth denser and tidier.
