Musa acuminata 'Dwarf Cavendish' is a compact banana cultivar that produces broad paddle-shaped leaves, often marked with reddish speckling when young, before settling into a dense green canopy on a thick pseudostem. Indoors it can reach about 1.2–2 m with enough light, warmth, feeding, and root space, making it a strong choice for a lush tropical look in a container.
Keep the substrate evenly moist but not waterlogged, use a rich well-draining mix, and provide high light with warmth around 22–28°C for the best pace of growth. The plant is regarded as non-toxic, can produce pups for propagation, and under ideal long-term conditions may even form edible fruit, though foliage remains the main attraction indoors. Regular feeding makes a visible difference to leaf size and pace.
