Passiflora sexflora combines a rare tactile quality with a numerical curiosity: the softly velvety leaves are divided into three lobes of almost equal length, and the flowers often appear in groups of six at a node, which is reflected in the species name. That symmetry makes it stand apart within smaller-flowered Passiflora, where reduced or uneven lobing is more common.
Native to warm humid parts of Central and South America, it behaves as a slender twining climber and needs support, bright indirect light, evenly moist but draining substrate, and elevated humidity for best results. In drier or dimmer rooms it may stay alive but bloom less willingly and lose some of the lushness that makes the foliage so appealing. It is a collector’s vine for growers who value texture and pattern.
