Philodendron bicolor is a tropical climbing species with long, glossy green leaves that show two clear tones rather than a flat surface colour, which is where the species name comes from. It grows as a support-hungry vine and can reach about 1.5 m indoors with steady warmth, filtered light, and something to climb. The leaves are lance-shaped, reflective, and cleaner-looking than the broader, more textured philodendrons often grown beside it.
Bright, indirect light keeps the form stronger, while watering after the top layer has dried slightly helps prevent the overwatering problems that lead to yellowing. It prefers temperatures around 18–24 °C, humidity above 60%, and a well-draining mix with bark and perlite.
Because it contains calcium oxalate, it should be kept away from pets and children that might chew it.
