Philodendron 'Red Heart' is an uncommon hybrid recognized less by broad colour change than by the vivid red flush that radiates from the midrib into otherwise dark green leaves. New growth opens deeper maroon and then settles into a cleaner contrast, giving the plant a graphic look rather than the all-over colour wash seen in some red philodendrons. It stays fairly compact and upright, usually around 50–90 cm, which makes it easier to place than a fast climber.
Bright, indirect light keeps the red centre clearer, while a slightly drier rhythm than many philodendrons prefer helps it avoid the slowed, heavy growth associated with soggy roots. Temperatures around 20–28 °C, humidity around 60–75%, and an airy bark-and-coir mix suit it well.
It remains toxic if ingested and should be treated like other aroids in mixed households.
