Potting Soil Mix: Quick Overview
Potting Soil Mix is an all-round substrate for container plants that need a reliable balance of water retention, aeration, and base nutrition without the specialist behaviour of an aroid, cactus, or seed-starting mix. Organic components and added nutrients support root development, foliage growth, and general vigour, while structural fibres help stop the mix from collapsing into a heavy block too quickly. It works well for general repotting, balcony planters, flowering containers, and many ordinary foliage houseplants that do not require extreme drainage or unusual moisture conditions. For more demanding species it can also serve as a starting point, then be adjusted with bark, pumice, sand, or perlite to match the plant more precisely. That improves day-to-day use.
