Syngonium chiapense variegata combines the species’ larger heart-shaped leaves with bold white variegation, giving it a broader, heavier look than most podophyllum-based cultivars. It is a climbing aroid that responds strongly to vertical support, producing larger foliage and a more architectural outline as it matures indoors.
Bright indirect light helps the variegation stay cleaner, while watering after the top 2 – 3 cm of substrate dry reduces the risk of root rot in this thicker-leaved species. Use a chunky, well-draining mix, keep temperatures around 18 – 26 °C with higher humidity if possible, and note that all parts contain calcium oxalate and are toxic if ingested.
