Thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum is a large self-heading aroid with a thick trunk-like stem, aerial roots, and deeply lobed leaves that can become more than a metre wide indoors over time. It does not climb, but instead expands into a bold, spreading canopy that works as a long-term floor plant where its size and mature structure can develop properly.
Bright indirect light gives the strongest growth, and watering after the upper portion of the mix dries helps prevent yellowing and root problems without letting the plant stay dry for too long. A deep, airy substrate, temperatures around 18 – 27 °C, moderate humidity, and occasional pruning of older leaves keep it in good condition; like other aroids, it is toxic if ingested.
