Thaumatophyllum tweedieanum develops a self-supporting, shrubby structure with large, deeply divided leaves, making it useful for growers who want dramatic aroid foliage without a climbing habit. It comes from seasonally drier tropical regions than many rainforest aroids, so it appreciates strong light and an airy root zone more than constant wetness.
Bright indirect light with some gentle sun, watering after the top few centimetres dry, and a chunky, well-draining substrate help keep the thick stems and broad foliage firm. Warm temperatures around 18 – 26 °C, moderate humidity, and periodic pruning of tired leaves suit it well, and like other Thaumatophyllum it contains calcium oxalate and is toxic if ingested.
