Xanthosoma dealbatum is a rarely offered tuberous aroid grown for large upright leaves with a deep green, slightly velvety surface and a substantial rainforest look. In containers it develops from a geophytic base into a broad foliage plant that rewards warmth, humidity, and a consistent root environment more than bright sun or constant drying.
Give it bright, indirect light or partial shade, keep the substrate evenly moist but never waterlogged, and use a rich airy aroid mix that holds moisture while still draining freely. Regular feeding during active growth helps support the large leaves, while yellowing or slow growth usually points to cold, dense soil, or excess water.
